Japan’s most famed sneaker store chose the classic Marathon ’84 to work on.
A vintage runner created for the 1984 New York Marathon; and one of ellesse’s most celebrated styles.
Atmos bring their typical abstract tastes to the table; a controversial all over red pantone, symbolising good luck in Japan, Picasso inspired artwork and sock print for that eclectic Atmos touch.
The result is a clean statement sneaker pushing the Marathon ’84 into the forefront of today’s sneaker community.
1959年、イタリアのペルージャにおいて、セルバディオ・レオナルドによって創設されたellesse。
ヨーロッパの老舗スポーツアパレルブランドとして、世界各国のテニスプレーヤーを中心に愛され、近年では、Colette、sneakersnstuff、Nash Moneyなど名立たるヨーロッパセレクトショップなどともコラボレーションを展開し、LondonにPOP UP Shopをオープンさせるなど今後も目が離せない注目のブランド。
今回も第一弾と同様、世界中の厳選された五か国、五店舗で、70年代後半から80年代後半のellesseのビンテージモデルとなるスニーカーをリワークしたモデルが各店舗150足限定で発売。
日本からは東京のショップとしてatmosが選ばれ、1984年に開催されたニューヨークマラソンのellesse の代表的モデル"Marathon '84"を、パブロ・ピカソをテーマにリワークした。
また、ellesseのグローバルスペシャルライン"Fab Five"とatmosとのコラボレーションアイテム発売を記念し、2012年10月19日(金)にローンチパーティーが開催される。
会場では他国で同じくデザインされた"Fab Five"も展示される。
